Introduction

We had the option of choosing any product of our choice and design a packaging for the product we had chosen.

Colour pencil sets:
I decided to design a packaging  for colour pencils as I have been using this product for many years. At some point, I experienced a few issues as a frequent user. For example, those sets that cannot transform into a stand tends to take up more table space. While those that can, may not even give a clean break along the "dotted line", thus tearing the packaging in the process.

While designing, I also took into consideration that I also had to design the packaging in such a way that is still compact and portable since there would be colour pencil sets that holds more than 24 colour pencils.

Learning Point

This project empowered me with better understanding of upcycling. Creative reuse,  transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value, which can really benefit designers, craft mans and consumers, without wasting new resources. â€‹Additionally, I improved on my drawing skills and gained a bit of craftsmanship as well.
