Shelves Assignment
Designing shelves were one of my assignments. My designs was based on the fact that the shelves nowadays are tilting in favour of futuristic designs that our appreciation for the beauty of mother nature is slowly diminishing over time.
Research shown that people spend about 80% to 90% of their lifetime indoor due to technology
Design brief
A wall shelf designed to connect an appreciation between the user and nature. The focus of the design is centered on stimulating the human senses by using the colours and shapes of nature and human structures build in nature to bring a sense of meaningful connection.
Inspirations
Mountains, waterfalls, pavement, garden fence, tree house and rope bridge.
Refinement, Final design
- I added 4 triangle instead of 3 to test out how it would looked.
- I change back to 3 triangle shelves but with different width to create more of the mountain feel.
- I removed the bottom shelf and created a waved instead, as a river never flow in a straight line.
- My final design have a plant holder at the end.
